The above nutritional values are per half egg, calculated for 6 half eggs. The nutritional values provided per dish are only an indication. Since the nutritional values can vary greatly depending on the brand/product you use, it has a significant impact on the nutritional value of a complete dish. Additionally, everyone consumes different quantities, so it’s always best to calculate the nutritional value based on the ingredients you use and the portion size you eat. Deviled Eggs
Deviled eggs are incredibly delicious and easy to make! Most of the time is spent boiling the eggs, so it’s not too difficult 😉
They are festive appetizers to serve (for example, at a birthday party), but they are also very tasty to make for yourself as a snack, to take as lunch, or as a side dish for a meal. How about having deviled eggs for breakfast on the weekend? You can certainly vary the filling and garnish to give them your own favorite twist. Here, I’ll share my favorite version with you.
Ingredients
For 6 half eggs, for the base:
- 3 eggs (size M/L, hard-boiled)
- 30 grams mayonnaise (click here for a homemade recipe)
- 1 tsp mustard
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- Pepper and salt (to taste)
For garnish:
- Paprika powder or smoked paprika powder
- Curry powder
- Turmeric powder
- Chives (fresh or dried)
- Parsley (fresh or dried)
- Dried paprika pieces
Preparation
Cut the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully remove the egg yolks using a teaspoon. Place the halved egg whites neatly on a plate and set them aside.
Put the egg yolks and all other ingredients for the base in a narrow measuring cup and puree it using an immersion blender. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag with a nozzle of your choice (preferably choose a wider nozzle, as a narrow one may not allow the puree to flow smoothly). Fill the egg whites with the puree.
Decorate the half eggs with the garnish of your choice and serve.
You can also make the eggs in advance, store them covered with plastic wrap or in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
