Steak with Brie Salad
Many people often associate salads with lettuce, boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, and perhaps some meat. However, a salad can be so much more! This delicious steak with Brie salad will likely change your perception of what a meal salad can be.
This is truly one of my most favorite salads, and it frequently appears on my menu during the summer months!
The ingredients
For 2 people as a main salad, or 4 people as a side dish:
- 1 bag of mixed greens
- 100 grams of Brie cheese (sliced thinly)
- A small handful of roasted pine nuts
- 100 grams of bacon bits or crispy bacon slices (cooked)
- 1 tablespoon of sun-dried tomatoes (sliced or diced)
- Garden herb dressing (Click here for the recipe)
- 1 piece of sirloin steak or beef steak (cut into cubes)
- ½ red onion (finely chopped)
- Approximately 5 mushrooms (sliced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cook the beef cubes to your desired level of doneness, adding the mushrooms towards the end and cooking briefly. Season with salt and pepper.
While the beef is cooking, prepare the dressing and mix it with the red onion, tomatoes, and pine nuts in a large bowl.
Add the mixed greens to the bowl and toss them with the dressing mixture.
Top the salad with the cooked beef, mushrooms, bacon bits, and Brie cheese slices.
Serve the salad chilled or at room temperature, especially if the beef and mushrooms are still warm.
Serving Tip: This salad is delicious both chilled and at room temperature when the beef and mushrooms are still slightly warm. Enjoy!
