Explanation of nutritional value:
In all cookbook recipes, the nutritional value is provided as inspiration (which means it’s not cookbook-worthy but still delicious 😉). Calculate the nutritional values yourself, if desired, based on the quantities of the ingredients you use. Don’t know how to do that? You can read about it here.
Omelet with endive, ham, and brie cheese
In addition to all the recipes from my cookbooks, I’ve also created a delicious selection of recipes for you that may not be cookbook-worthy but are still tasty and simple! Including this delicious dish.
This is one of those delightful creations that came about from leftovers. The ingredients complement each other perfectly in this dish.
Ingredients
- 2 heads of endive (core removed and sliced into strips)
- 3 slices of ham (torn into pieces)
- 50-70 grams of Brie cheese (sliced)
- A small splash of unsweetened liquid cream
- 3 eggs
- Pepper and salt (to taste)
- Oil of your choice (for frying)
Instructions
Whisk the eggs with the liquid cream, pepper, and salt.
Heat a little oil in a large skillet (one that has a lid) and sauté the endive for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes translucent. Remove it from the pan and set the pan on the smallest burner over low heat.
Pour the beaten eggs into the pan and immediately distribute the endive, ham, and Brie on top so that they sink slightly into the egg mixture.
Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook very slowly. The flavors of the Brie, endive, and ham will infuse beautifully into the eggs. Enjoy! ☺
