Keto high tea

A high tea is something many people may have heard of or experienced. It is often offered as an arrangement in many lunchrooms and coffee shops, with various rounds of serving sweet and savory dishes. This is something that is often done by groups of friends, where you sit together for hours, chatting and enjoying the delicious treats. Unfortunately, the high teas you can book are anything but healthy or low-carb… But did you know that you can easily organize this yourself? Everything can be fully keto-friendly, and you can all enjoy a variety of treats while taking the time to relax, laugh, live in the moment, and create beautiful memories.

I have organized a high tea several times myself; it’s really so much fun! And with the right preparations, it’s not as much work as it may seem, so don’t be discouraged! 😉

Proper Preparation

It naturally begins with determining what you want to make. Start with the number of people coming. If, for example, only 3 people are coming, it’s not very practical to make 15 different things because that’s way too much to eat. However, if there are maybe 10 people, you can make a lot more different things because the chance of it being consumed is quite likely. Giving doggy bags to your guests is something they will undoubtedly appreciate, so don’t worry if you’ve made a bit too much.

Okay, so now you know how many people are coming, time to decide on the treats. It’s customary to have a combination of savory and sweet dishes, but you can adjust this entirely to your liking. You can also choose to make only sweet or only savory snacks. Here are lists of my favorite high tea snacks.

Savory Snacks

In my cookbooks, you can find three different types of wraps that are really easy to make. Alternatively, you can create a delicious wrap from a thinly baked omelet. As for the fillings, the possibilities are endless. My favorite fillings include:
* Filet American with pepper, salt, and finely chopped Kesbeke pickles, smoked chicken with lettuce and a dressing of mayonnaise-mustard-Steviala sweet bee
* Carpaccio with a spread of mayonnaise and mashed avocado, Parmesan cheese, and roasted pine nuts
* Smoked chicken with lettuce, crispy bacon crumbs, and herb cream cheese.
The other savory snacks in the aforementioned list (those that are not clickable) have recipes that can be found in my cookbooks.

Sweet Treats

For sweet treats, you can find an incredible variety of delicious things in The Ultimate Ketogenic Sweets Special. There are a whopping 101 ketogenic sweet recipes in there. Some of these recipes are public and can be found in the recipes section on my website, so you can choose some delightful options to make.

Drinks

Most people who follow a ketogenic diet are already quite content with tea, coffee, and water (possibly sparkling water). Just ask your guests beforehand what they prefer to drink and make sure you have it on hand. 😉

Make It Easy for Yourself

If you have to make everything on one day, it will take a lot of time and energy. Do yourself a favor and don’t do that unless you enjoy it. Many dishes can be frozen, so you can make them in stages in the weeks leading up to the date. Take them out of the freezer the night before and let them thaw in the refrigerator. This includes cookies, chocolates, cake, English muffins, and even some cakes.

Consider what things you can make a few days in advance, such as a cake, the panna cottas, jam, and chocolate mousse. These stay good in the fridge for at least 3 days, so you can prepare them in stages as well.

The wraps are best made on the day itself, but that’s the only thing you need to do that day—sounds manageable, right? 😉 A high tea is usually not in the early morning, usually in the afternoon. So, if you make them in the morning (keep them in the fridge), you have the rest of the day to enjoy the company without having to do anything else.
